126/365

current date and time: 5.6.2012 9:07 pm
in my mug: homemade root beer so close to the kind my great-grandparents made it takes me right back
in my belly:  a great big salad.  we found a new farm stand on Saturday that had fresh picked lettuces, some asparagus and even some early strawberries that tasted like little pops of heaven
in my ears: "Halcyon"  The Paper Kites.  I can't seem to get it off repeat, been taking it to bed at night.  This has been my most recent writing music
out the window: glorious spring, cows in green grass, the screech of the peacock next door, "help....help"
on the editor:  how about this quick blurry one, too busy this weekend to really do any photo work
last watched:  We Bought A Zoo, to which the girls continued their habit of making fun of me for crying through.  Why can't I watch anything without crying....tell me.
by my bedside: my creative planning notebook, my favorite paper pencil from Anthropologie which (sadly is almost gone)  soothing songs to help sleep.
feeling good about:  deciding a bit of what i want to do creatively, having a girls night with the family last night, the constant chatter of the birds outside
bummed about:  car is in the shop, having to borrow one for work tomorrow.
new thing i love: this message from Henry Rollins, funny to think all that time ago when i was listening to his spoken word cassettes back in my early twenties and laughing riotously as he poked fun at himself and also this post on rhythm, which touched right on my sense of wanting to make rituals and routines right now.

  2. If you live next door to a peacock maybe you live near a zoo? I've never met someone who owned a peacock as a pet.. I hope your car repair is inexpensive and sorry about your favorite pencil being all used up, I have favorite writing implements too!

  3. @denise the cows yesterday were all standing facing the same way, i was thinking something was comin.

@swanski no zoo, just a farm that seems to take in everything. the peacock is a recent addition and drives me crazy with it's screams...

  6. I'm behind here, so just saw this & added I Bought A Zoo to my list. It looks wonderful! I've known folks with peacocks, though not next door. Have had some guineas here, and have neighbors with them now. Rather noisy birds, for sure.
